Symposium on Trade and the Environment
Greening North America’s Trade Corridors
April 22-24, 2008, Tempe, AZ
On April 22-24, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation, a trilateral organization created by Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to address environmental concerns, held its fourth annual Symposium on Trade and the Environment.
NACTS co-sponsored the first day of the event, with a conference on Greening North America’s Trade Corridors. The series of panel presentations and discussions focused on environmental issues related to NAFTA’s trade corridors and borders. Panelists represented trade groups, port authorities, think tanks, universities, transportation corridors, government agencies and private companies devoted to sustainability. The panelists and over 100 attendees discussed how to define green corridors across borders, how to promote green supply chains, and how to green NAFTA trucks, among other topics.
